Will the title be the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier trilogy?

Welcome to MMA Junkie’s weekly show, “Spinning Back Clique,” which takes a short spin through the biggest mixed martial arts topics. Panelists “Gorgeous” George Garcia from MMA Junkie Radio, as well as MMA Junkie’s Nolan King and Danny Segura, join host Simon Head this week. Let’s go into this!

The UFC 257 fallout and discussion continues, and we have now heard from the head coach of Conor McGregor, John Kavanagh, who suggested the UFC could book McGregor and Dustin Poirier for the unquestioned UFC lightweight title in a trilogy fight.

There will be a lot of interest in a trilogy, no doubt, but should the title really be on the line if they’re running it out for a third time?
Paige VanZant returned to play this weekend for the first time since leaving the UFC when she made her Bare Knuckle FC debut.

At the time, her decision to pick BKFC over possible choices in MMA raised a few eyebrows, but now that we’re only a few days away from her debut, what do you expect to see in a new sport from her?
Former Bellator and ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren has agreed to give what he wants to Jake Paul, and on April 17, the two will face off in a boxing match.

We might take this subject in a lot of different directions, but let’s just ask this: what do you think about this whole war, and do you really care about it?
To end this week, with UFC Fight Night 184, we have a strong card in store, as two of the most revered veterans of the sport, Alistair Overeem and Frankie Edgar, return to action in the main and co-main event bouts, respectively.

Before calling time on their respective careers, both men are looking for another chance at championship gold, so who do you think has the better shot at competing for a title again, and why?

Hope you’re enjoying the show this week.
