The UFC is starting to roll out its lineup for April.
A flyweight battle between Tracy Cortez and Justine Kish is in the works for the April 17 promotion event, which will take place at a venue and location to be announced in the coming days.
On Tuesday, two people with knowledge of the match confirmed the targeted booking to MMA Junkie, but requested to remain anonymous as an official note has yet to be made of the promotion.
Cortez (8-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is approaching the contest with an eight-fight winning streak. Cortez has secured her two UFC outings by unanimous decision after a contract-earning success at Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019.
Kish (7-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC), having lost three of four outings, joins the April 17 matchup. Kish returned from a two-year layoff in January 2020 and, by unanimous decision, defeated Lucie Pudilova. Kish was submitted by Sabina Mazo in her most recent fight in September.
The UFC’s April 17 lineup includes the inclusion of:
Paulo Costa vs. Robert Whittaker Bartosz Fabinski vs. Gerald Meerschaert Parker Porter vs. Chase Sherman Tracy Cortez vs. Justine Kish
In addition to experience-based compensation, according to officials, UFC fighters will receive royalty payments in perpetuity amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness.
